Armchair for the M/S Venus Ocean Liner

Painted mahogany, original naturally painted leather upholstery. Designed for the interior of the resurrected M/S Venus ocean liner. M/S Venus was designed and built 1931, seized by the Germans in 1941, sunk during the second World War in 1945 and resurrected and restored in 1948. Danish architect Palle Suenson was commissioned to redesign the interiors. Suenson brought the recently established Hans Wegner on board to handle the furniture designs, including the present chair.
